Team Carolina Standouts Make Their College Decisions by T.M. Price
D’Alessandro Chooses Bucknell; Moore Heading to Notre Dame
Country Day senior attackman Tommy D’Alessandro and Providence High senior goalie Brendan Moore both announced their college choices recently. The Team Carolina products made significant contributions on the field this summer and lead their respective teams this summer. D’Alessandro will attend Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania and Moore will attend Notre Dame University in South Bend, Indiana.
D’Alesandro has put up staggering statistics during his career with the Bucs while guiding Country Day to a State Championship in 2004 and an undefeated 2006 season thus far. In addition, D’Alesandro was named the Offensive MVP at the Duke Team Challenge and finished the summer as Team Carolina’s second leading scorer. Bucknell competes in the Patriot League against conference foes Army and Navy. The Bisons’ 2006 highlight was a 7-6 double overtime stunner of then #1 ranked Maryland.

Moore has led the Panthers to a 9-3 record as the backbone of a defensive unit that allows a paltry 5.63 goals a game. Moore’s ability to make the big save drew attention from college coaches while with Team Carolina this summer. Moore’s decision was solidified this fall when he visited South Bend to watch the Irish take down the defending national champions, Johns Hopkins, in a scrimmage. The following day he took in Notre Dame versus USC on the gridiron. Notre Dame competes in the Great Western Lacrosse League and currently sits at #10 in the NCAA Division I rankings.
